Corfu holidays: the best beaches and coves

Your easy guide to the best holiday in Corfu Island
Corfu Greece

Corfu Greece

Crystal waters and lush greenery are just some of the delights that await you if you enjoy one of the incredible Corfu holidays available this summer. With some of the best beaches and coves in the Mediterranean, there is no better place to escape the hustle and bustle than Corfu. For the ultimate beach break have a look at our picks of the island’s top coastal resorts.

Sidari
With its famous coves, Sidari is one of the most photographed areas of Corfu. Complementing its Blue Flag status is an intriguing landscape, which has been created by the eroding sandstone cliffs. As well as boasting a number of the island’s best swimming spots in Apotripiti and Logas beach (also known as the Sunset beach), Sidari’s famous Canal D’Amour coves cut an impressive figure and offer a number of tiny sand and shingle coves and narrow channels to explore. If that wasn’t enough, water skiing, paragliding, speed and pedal-boat hire and scuba diving are all available here too - yet another reason to enjoy one of the Corfu holidays around.

Agios Gordios
With its crystal-clear waters and surrounding greenery, Agios Gordios is widely regarded as one of Corfu’s most beautiful and therefore popular beaches. On Corfu’s west coast, it is in the shadows of the area’s olive-rich mountains and is home to a number of buzzing taverns, restaurants and bars from which you can enjoy the scenery. It is also one of the island’s best spots for windsurfing and offers various other water sports, including canoeing and boat hire, so whether it’s action or relaxation you’re after you will certainly find it here.

Pelekas
The soft sands of Gialiskari and Kontogialos in Pelekas have been attracting holidaymakers to Corfu for more than 30 years. A favourite hideaway, this resort is located just 13km from Corfu Town and surrounded by striking green hills. Although the hillside resort with its picturesque village is becoming more popular with people enjoying Corfu holidays, if you are looking for somewhere new to explore then this should be it. Traditional taverns, picturesque churches and golden sands are just some of the reasons why.

Dassia
With its clear, still waters, Dassia is a great place to try your hand at one of the many water sports available. If windsurfing or waterskiing sound a little too hectic for you though, why not lie back and relax on the pebble beach or visit one of the popular taverns of this east coast resort. On a clear day you may even be able to see Albania or the Greek mainland from your sun bed. Just a 10-minute drive from Corfu Town, holidaymakers can also experience the island’s thriving nightlife before returning to this peaceful beachside resort for another day of relaxation.
